However, after that you might want to get higher CTR like 10%~30%. What you need to do is to apply tricks on your Adsense ads
1. Blends into your content; looks like part of your content
Basically what I'm talking is that I want you to put the same hex color for your adsense border and background as your website background so it totally blend inside your content. People will think that your adsense ads is part of your content so they click on your adsense ads and you make money.
2. Position your adsense ads above the fold, and on the left side of the theme
Let's me explain why, it has been proven a lot of times that adsense ads that are placed above the fold derive higher CTR than putting adsense ads on the footer or end of the content. This is because when a visitor entered your website the first thing that they see is your Google adsense ads and if they are targeted visitors they will click on the adsense ads as they are interested on what adsense ads offer.
Why putting your adsense ads on the left side of your theme, this is because our eyes look from left to right as always, just imagine if you want to read a book and you always read from left to right? YES, we as internet surfers or researchers, we also read web content from left to right as we are accustom to read any article or book from left to right.
3. Change your adsense ads title colour to a brighter color than your links in your website
Why? If you change your adsense ads to a brighter color than your links in your website, it will attract a lot of attention for the users, he or she will keep on looking at the Google adsense ads, and finally click on your Google adsense ads as your adsense ads has a bright title color.
My recommended Adsense color:
Border: (same as your theme background colour)
Title : 6A0575
Background : (same as your theme background colour)
Text: 000000
URL: 000000
4. Change your adsense ads text and URL color to BLACK color
Why? Your adsense ads blend in to your content, since your content font is black colour too. This works and I always get higher CTR using black color on my adsense text and URL.
5. Use 360 x 280 (large rectangle) instead of 160 x 600 (skyscraper)
If you have a choice to choose between both large rectangle and skyscraper, use large rectangle instead it has been proven a lot of times that this adsense unit derive high CTR. From our split testing, ALL our reports show us that 360 x 280 (large rectangle) always get higher CTR than 160 x 600 (skyscraper).
6. Use text ads instead of image ads.
You might heard that using both text ads and image ads you get higher CPC, this is true as there are more advertisers to bid for your ads spot. However, if you want to get higher CTR, text ads is the way to go. Our reports show as that text ads has 70% higher CTR than image ads. Most of the times, text ads is the one which get higher CTR.
7. Put ellipse at the end of your content
What do I mean by this? At the last sentence of your article put ellipse (...) will get higher CTR. Put your adsense ads below the ellipse and people will thought there is a part 2 of the content or related content so they click on your link, but actually the link is part of the adsense ads.
